Has anybody tested this one with the Mini Swift?
   gazza2009au (76%)
no but i just tested this motor on 3S 51watts 4.1amps 223grams thrust gws 5x3 prop so if u go with this motor on 3S using throttle sparingly u will turn the mini swift into a hot liner
   msanche (94%)
Yes, we have tested this micro motor and it works great with the Miniswift, 2S with 6X3 and 3S with 5x3 GWS propellers, 10 amp ESC and 2 5Gr servos

Mini SWIFT for this engine is too weak, I recommend 20g vasaj engine.

Hi * All. My Motor doesn't work at the Turnigy 6 A controller. The motor just jittering, no rotation. I've tested those motor at no Name 15 A controller. And at this one, the motor works proper. Does somebody knows the resistance of Motor? Motor should be star connected. I assume a wire is broken or shorted and the current consumption of motor is to high. This could be caused the problems. Are there other ideas? Thank you Lorenz
   rudyglx (48%)
Maybe the timing on your esc is not set right, use Hobbykings Turnigy programming card: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2169 Try it, timing should be set at "high". I have used it with great results. I hope this helps!
   ListerStorm (40%)
This Motor works with the Turnigy 6A controller. My Motor was jittering too after a broken wire. I think a bad quality of wires.
   gazza2009au (76%)
there is nothing wrong with the wiring on this motor make sure your plugs are soldered on correctly with a good solder connection
   DobX1 (42%)
I had the same problem, set the frequence to medium on the ESC. If the motor is OK, the problem will be gone.
   Bernd (71%)
It's not a problem of current consumption because this only gets higher on a real load. Try a different voltage maybe (3s vs 2s lipo)* also some combinations simply don't work.

The ad shows a prop adapter and a prop saver included but HK only sent prop saver?
   Roy (56%)
i only got 2 prop saver bands. no prop saver or adapter lol
   thunderchicken (39%)
my prop adapter was missing too . i tried to complain to hk but they wanted pictures of my whole order . nice way of sidestepping customer complaints !!! . offered them a photo of my ass !! .
   thunderchicken (39%)
mine was the same , giuseppi . dont bother trying to tell hobbyking , use a brick wall instead .
   Phillip (63%)
I have just had this issue. I queried it because I needed the prop adapters. I have been credited for them, because they are no longer included.
   ListerStorm (40%)
HK send what is on the picture: Motor, Mount, Probsafer Rubber.

Hi, got a weird question to ask. i'm trying to minimize the brushless electronics needed to run a 4-engine GWS c130. can i just chain-wire all the motors into a big ESC then into a big lipo!? sorry, this may sound ridiculous but is it possible, theoretically? thankx!
   FlyingMonkey (97%)
Hi, no it isn't possible with brushless motors! It would only work with brushed motors. Each brushless motor needs its own ESC! But be careful: Your Receiver only needs BEC one-time and not four! So just cut the Plus wire from three ESC's. And you can use 1 batterie for all four ESC's.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   khong heng chuen (56%)
Hi & thankx FM! i didn't know about the 4 BEC thing! or how about adding an external BEC & cut off all the smaller BECs? any differences!?
   thunderchicken (39%)
i have heard that this works . try n see .
   Eric1180 (-55%)
You Can run 2 motors off 1 esc but it isn't advisable. They have to be Really Close to Identical. If one motor is slower than another it can cause problems. Also if you lose your ESC you have no power to all of your motors

Hello,
when will this motor be in stock again?
I am waiting for it for more than 2 month...

Pleeease give us this motor back...
It was so awesome!

It's a shame what it takes to send the articles to meet lead times tones:

Can this motor be used as a pusher? I'd like to build it on a Multiplex Fox, like the EZ*
   sagittarius (99%)
I also use this motor on my Multiplex Fox and it works very fine, but what do you mean by EZ*?
Ich benutze diesen Motor auch in meiner MPX Fox und er arbeitet sehr gut, aber was meinst du mit EZ*?
   rkhoo (44%)
If EZ* means easyStar then the answer is "No". EasyStar needs at least 80W to start. I have used a 2400kv 28mm inrunner on APC 6x4 on 2 or 3 S with very good results.
   awkwardflyer (43%)
he ment the way the ez* has the motor mounted.

   ListerStorm (40%)
This motor is perfect for the mpx fox. i dont think there is a different if used as pusher.
   Mnemic (40%)
I've used this Motor in a pusher. Just make sure you have the right prop and the esc is wired to turn the motor in the right direction. I had the prop on backwards at first, and while it.. kinda worked, it was only about 50% the real thrust.
   aapee73 (59%)
Any electric motor could be pusher motor. You must only change direction of rotation. Normal props should be fine (pusher props are intended use to combustion engines, where rotating direction is fixed), just make sure that props marked are faced to forward.
   gazza2009au (76%)
Martin yes i used this motor in pusher config on my small flying wing aapee73 no not all motors can be used as pushers some outrunner motors bind as there is no bearing in between the stator and rear mount the bearings are on the outside of the rear mount and pushed in and held in place with a sir clip so the magnets bind with the rear mount where they join

purschi (62%)
Can anyone tell me what setting in esc (timing and PWM) is best for this motor?
8 kHz / 16 khz / 36 khz ???
lead angle??

Greetz.
   gazza2009au (76%)
just use standard settings this motor is that small u wouldnt notice the difference in my opinion

Dave1 (43%)
Is the shaft reversible?
   Bat-22 (61%)
Yes , if you can unscrew the little screw that maintain the shaft .
I think you need a 0,95mm wrench but I dont had one.
I made a slot with a Dremel.
Remove the ring, (you dont need it for a tractot)
You can now separate stator and rotor.
Push the shaft with care.
Perhaps you need a hammer , but a SMALL one!

teebone (64%)
Has anyone used 2mm carbon rod as a replacement for a motor shaft? If so, how did it work out?

teebone (64%)
What size allen/hex head wrench do I need to remove the allen screw that holds the shaft in the motor? It is smaller than 0.050. I bent the shaft and would like to replace it.
   boredom.is.me (48%)
Aren't the mount grub and shaft hub the same?
   Eric1180 (-55%)
no the Shaft hub is even smaller

boredom.is.me (48%)
can we have an udate on the allen wrench size?
   teebone (64%)
It takes a 0.050 allen wrench for the allen head screws that hold the motor in the motor mount. I wish I knew the allen wrench size for the allen head screw that secures the shaft in the motor. (see my note below)

Riva8406 (53%)
Hello. Has someone tested it with a 3S and 4x4 prop ? Description does not say if it can support 3S with a small prop ? Thanks
   webber (98%)
I use this motor with a 3S and 4025 prop and it performs great.
   gazza2009au (76%)
i tested this motor on 3S 500mah zippy flightmax GWS 5x3 4.1amps 223 grams thrust 51 watts the mount and rear bearing became warm i dont think the bearings are of high speed design hence why the listing states 2S lipo only

Curtis (34%)
Trying to buy hex screws that hold the motor to the motor mount anyone know the size? They are so small I can't find them in any hardware store and I don't want to order stuff off the internet with knowing the correct size.
   airheli1201 (52%)
it's the 1.27mm hex
   Martin. (39%)
Also for the prop-saver you'll need a 1.27mm hex wrench.

eglider (52%)
Could anyone tell me what gauge wire this motor uses? I've busted one and fancy trying a rewind. Its 20 turns wye by the way.
   eglider (52%)
Guessed at 30awg and the results are as the original, not a difficult wind if you've done a few before.
   jct049 (24%)
I measured the wire at 29awg. My wire broke as well. I need to rewind it. Some were 20 turns and some were 19 turns. Go figure.

Chris (42%)
What is the recommended propeller for this motor?
   Chris (42%)
OK - found it myself (7x5)
Thanks
   Daniel (45%)
I use the 1811 with anything from 4530 to 7035. The 7" is max and hoggs current. My 3oz Guillows Champ flys great with the 4530
   foamflyer.info (24%)
I use a GWS 3x2, performs very well.

Now, the Motor is finally in Stock can someone give me please the dimensions of the mount...It will take a few days till the motors will arrive. And it would be great if I can work further on my Project while that waiting time...thxMartin
   tronchaviones (86%)
My unit has a four legs cross (instead of a three legs one, like the photograph) 21.0 mm long, 5.15 mm wide, 1.25 mm thick, with four holes of 2.1 mm diameter, separated by 15.8 mm (so the distance from the center of the axis to the center of the holes is 7.9 mm).

chaos82 (54%)
I'd like to know what measurement the footprint of the motor has.
What dimensons the mounting holes are and how they are layouted.

I am planning my Project while I am waiting for my motors.
Thats why I would know that.

Thx
Martin

Hello HobbyKing

Are there any new Informations?
The distance of the 3 holes from the Center would be very important!

thx anyway
Martin
   gazza2009au (76%)
there are 4 mounting holes mine measured 15.5mm and 16mm
